My Journey As A Clinical Psychologist...

As a Masters candidate in Clinical Psychology from UCSI University, I’ve been expanding my skills and professionalism initially through completing my internal placement at UCSI University. My role was mainly to offer clinical services to students from UCSI who were struggling with different challenges in their lives. I was also assigned with clients who were referred externally. I learned to conceptualize the cases by understanding all the contributing factors to the issues, and that helped me to develop coherent plans for focusing on treatment and interventions. In addition, I have primarily applied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to promote positive change to my clients, whilst being open and objective to mixed methods depending on what worked best for my clients.

I have recently completed my second placement at Atfal Jannah, in which I was mainly working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders. I was given the opportunity to explore various useful assessment tools that aided me in the diagnosis and intervention
planning. Furthermore, I practiced ABA therapy, which focused on improving behaviors that were helpful for the children.

My key areas of interest include cognitive distortions, interpersonal issues, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and trauma-related issues. I will continue to let my passion drive my professionalism.
